March by election result

Fenland DC, March West

Con 830 (53.9;-5.2), Lab 460 (29.9;+29.9), Lib Dem 250 (16.2;-24.7)
Majority 370. Turnout not known. Con hold. Percentage change is since May 2007.

30% swing to Labour, following on from the Bretton win for Labour last week. Peterborough members were interested to see the result in March where we helped out over one Sunny weekend.

Just goes to show where we have good local candidates our votes increase dramatically.

Thanks to those who help canvass in South Bretton this morning and in East and Park this afternoon - the sun was out for us once again. Now I have the case work to look into, schools exclusions and young peole not getting school places for over 7 months - because there is a shortage of places!!! This Peterborough Tory council took the governemnt money for brand new schools and demolished too many others (hoping to make a quick buck from friendly private developers).

Hello to all those residents I met in  Reeves way, Northfield Road, South Bretton and Mayors Walk today.

Promoted by Ray Collins, General Secretary, the Labour Party, on behalf of the Labour Party, both at 39 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0HA.
