Recently writing in the ET the incumbent MP Tory Jackson who has a second home in Peterborough described the ET forum which is used by many of his constituents as a forum which is "full of whingers and moaners"

Well we have a lot to be concerned about with his representation of Peterborough folk at Parliament and dysfunctional local Tories messing up our council services.

As potential slow burning career suicide notes go, at least it was clear and to the point – Tory communities spokesman and MP for Peterborough Stewart Jackson wrote in his local newspaper column that "whingers and moaners" tended to blame the council "for almost everything that goes wrong" and they needed to "get out more".

However, Jackson – who famously claimed more than £300 in expenses for his swimming pool – has denied that he was attacking people in his constituency.

He wrote that a forum on the newspaper's website was "full of whingers and moaners usually ascribing to our elected councillors and officers the basest motives for their actions". He went on: "Most of them see a conspiracy behind every cock-up. A number seem to spend their whole life on the forum, but they need to get out a bit more."

In the expenses scandal, Jackson was shown to have claimed more than £66,000 in second home expenses for his family home, £3,000 for a carpet, £775 for plumbing work and £741 for a king-size bed. To date, he has paid back £1,288.

Labour's Ed Murphy, who plans to take over from Jackson at the next election, said: "It seems mad for him to diss [insult] his constituents. He is employed by them. He's having a bad time with Peterborough people at the moment. He's from west London and doesn't seem to understand local concerns."

“Concerning the latest column in the Peterborough ET from Stewart Jackson MP. It is mad of an MP to abuse their own constituents. It is wrong of him to slam local constituents for having an opinion about the way that the local council - which is paid for by Mr Jackson's constituents, by the way - carries out its services. The MP is paid by us and should act as our employee to represent Peterborough in parliament not the other way round. Jackson is taking people for granted; he then has a story in the paper this week slamming his own Conservative councillors for smartening up an underpass. Perhaps he should quit and return to being a banker in London.

“Yesterday I received an autumn communication from our incumbent MP informing us we could book an appointment for his surgery that was held in November. What a waste of our tax payers money, if he is going to use the parliamentary communications allowances which we pay for then I would ask that at least he does not waste it on out of date publicity”.
