Ed Murphy Local Campaigner

500

Ed Murphy, pictured above, meeting local residents in the City

Former Peterborough County Councillor Murphy is our Parliamentary candidate. He has lived and worked in Peterborough most of his life, it his home town and he does not claim any second home allowance to do the job of representing Peterborough constituents. Unlike Stewart Jackson who has so far claimed over £66,000 for his second home.

Ed is delighted to stand as Peterborough's parliamentary representative. For too long Peterborough has had career politicians as MPs; not since the 1920s have we had a Peterborough born Member of Parliament. Our MP should be focused on representing Peterborough folk.

Our Council should be run for the people of Peterborough and in these tough economic times we should be investing in our workers and our neighbourhood. Ed is a candidate with good community links, who has demonstrated he is able to represent residents effectively irrespective of party politics.

Ed lives locally; he uses local services and facilities. He believes that if Peterborough wants to be an "Environment City" then we should promote our green space, improve and celebrate our allotments and the open spaces inherited from the new town development corporation.

Promoted by Ray Collins, General Secretary, the Labour Party, on behalf of the Labour Party, both at 39 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0HA.
