Vince Moon and Ed Murphy called into the Paston Farm play area and were very impressed with the facilities on offer to local children. They spoke to Michael Williams and his children, Angie-Li and Josh, who are all regular users of the centre. Michael said it's great to have a place like this so close to home and available to all children to use. It's very popular with local children and always busy when we come here. Angie-Li told Vince and Ed "There's lots of things to do at Paston Farm and it's much safer than playing in the...

Residents who were concerned about plans to put allotments on Gunthorpe Rec contacted their local Labour Candidate, Vince Moon and asked him to find out more about these proposals. Vince was able to obtain and pass on facts and plans to the residents. It turned out that the selling off of the Itter Park allotments by the Tory Council was behind this idea, as alternative allotment sites have to be provided. Vince also requested that the item be placed on the agenda for the local Neighbourhood Council Meeting and this was duly done. Many residents attended this...

Councillor Nazim Khan is concerned over the state of some of the roads in central Peterborough. He has also received complaints over the condition of some of the trees and shrubs in his ward. He said "I'm pressing the Council to take action. We feel we are always at the bottom of the Council's work programme." Central Ward councillors have used some of the ward's Community Fund to support an Awards Ceremony for successful school students and also to provide much needed funds for a senior citizens' group. Labour believes that this is how the Community Fund should...

ROVING SURGERIES Your Labour Party Team has been busy with its Roving Surgeries. We have recently visited Vere Road, Cecil Road, Northfield Road, Queen’s Drive West, All Saints’ Road, Reeves Way, Broad Close, Prince’s Street, St Mary’s Close, Princes Gardens and Brownlow Road. Residents raised many issues with us which we are taking up with the Council and Emergency Services. A serious issue we are dealing with is the width of clear road at the junction of Dogsthorpe and All Saints’ Roads. Residents are concerned that the Council has not left sufficient space for a...
