Alternative Westgate

It would seem the plans for North Westgate are now on hold - the conservative council have dithered on this for so many years now. The plans were not that good anyway with multi story concrete car parks, the same old shops and demolition of the popular Brewery Tap. Cyclists would have been excluded and the area is blighted from the continued delay.

What about an alternative do we really need another M & S in this day of internet shopping and a retail downturn. How about saving the Brewery Tap and bringing something different to the area - day and night. Finance may be available for a Meena Bazaar retail market which would offer a contrast to the extended town centre.

A local Housing Company or our Peterborough Housing Associations could get on with building the 200 dwellings earmarked for the site.  What do you think?
